Start of a joint project with Jinki-Ittai Co! Shoji Kawamori will take on the challenge of industrial design of “humanoid heavy machinery” for the first time.

Shoji Kawamori and Jinki-Ittai will begin a joint development project of humanoid heavy machinery (robots) with Kota Nezu, a product designer who has worked on the electric motorcycle “zecOO” and the family-type robot “LOVOT”.
Kota Nezu and Shoji Kawamori will unveil concept sketches of future humanoid heavy machines at the “Jinki-Ittai Corporation 2024” on August 1, 2024. In addition, we will participate in a panel discussion.

Since 2021, Jinki-Ittai has been working with Mr. Nezu on a total design project to implement general-purpose humanoid heavy machinery that incorporates advanced robotics technology.
Mr. Nezu and Mr. Masaya Nomura, a mechanical design engineer at Jinki Ittai, collaborated in the design of “Zero Type Humanoid Machines ver. 1.3” and “Zero Type Humanoid Machines ver. 2.0,” which were jointly developed with JR West Japan and Nippon Signal, and their industrial designs, which combine practicality and functional beauty as industrial machines, have attracted attention from various media. The industrial design, which combines practicality and functional beauty as an industrial machine, attracted attention from various media.
Meanwhile, Jinki-Ittai had been exchanging ideas with Kawamori about “humanoid heavy machinery that can be used in the real world. Kawamori’s response was, “I want to design something that is useful for people. Kawamori’s desire to “design designs that are useful to people and support people working” and Jinki-Ittai’s desire to “implement advanced robotics technology in society and eliminate hard labor” overlapped, and the two companies decided to work together on a joint development project for humanoid heavy equipment with Nezu, who oversees total design at Jinki-Ittai.
Kawamori commented on the project as follows
I have been involved in the entertainment industry for over 40 years and have designed many things.
I believe that entertainment is an important content that provides surprises and excitement to people.
At the same time, I had hoped that one day I would have a chance to contribute my designs to social issues.
I am very grateful for the opportunity to participate in the industrial design of a working machine for the first time.
