■ About the “Life Sphere Monument”
The “Life Sphere Monument” was created as the symbol of the Osaka-Kansai Expo Signature Pavilion, “The Adventure of Life.”
This work expresses a worldview that respects biodiversity, embodying the message that all living things—elephants, whales, trees, mushrooms, ants, humans, and others, large and small—are “equal lives,” without hierarchy or superiority.
Furthermore, by utilizing urban mining materials—recycled metals from discarded PCs, mobile phones, and other devices—and applying traditional Kanazawa gold leaf finishing techniques, it was crafted as a symbolic monument demonstrating the value of circulation and regeneration without causing new harm to nature.
