Deep Vision Revival Project

The “Deep Vision,” a core pavilion content that moved countless visitors at the Expo, is taking its next step. The “Deep Vision Revival Project” is now officially launching to carry this legacy forward to the next generation.

Starting Friday, February 27, 2026, we will launch a crowdfunding campaign to support the relocation and revival of the theater, including early reservation applications as rewards. Furthermore, we are pleased to announce that all 31 reusable structural “cells” that symbolized the pavilion’s architecture have found their new repurposed homes.

1. Starting Feb 27: Crowdfunding for the Revival

This project aims to revive the “Deep Vision,” beloved by many guests during the Expo, in a new location. Whether you experienced it firsthand or missed out on reservations, please join us in witnessing the continuation of this legacy. A launch screening is scheduled for later in 2026 at a location in the Kansai region. Crowdfunding participants are guaranteed a reservation through this project.

  • Start Date: Friday, February 27, 2026
  • Main Reward: “Priority Seating Reservation Rights” for the revived theater.
  • Objective: Establishing a new reuse model where citizens help maintain and operate the content, ensuring the Expo’s impact isn’t just temporary.
  • Notes: While a 100% exact replica of the original theater is not possible, the experience will be maintained and adjusted for the touring exhibition format.
  • If the crowdfunding goal is not met, refunds may be issued. Thank you for your understanding.
  • Reservation applications are scheduled to begin in early August this summer.

2. Destinations Confirmed for All 31 “Reuse Cells”

Through a public call for applications from local governments, educational institutions, and companies across Japan, destinations for all 31 characteristic “cells” that made up the pavilion have been finalized.

  • Utilization Examples: Displays in memorial parks, university research materials (fish reef materials), symbols for educational facilities, etc.
  • Significance: By not discarding any reusable materials, we embody a circular economy that disperses and embeds the “Memories of the Expo” throughout Japan.
