Pavilion Attendant Uniforms Released
KAWAMORI Shoji created the concept for the pavilion based on the theme of “nurturing life.”
To nurture means to develop with care. In other words, it is an image closely related to education.
Therefore, the pavilion’s attendant uniforms were based on school uniforms.
In addition to EBATA Risa’s unique perspective as a character designer, Akashi School Uniform Company (Kojima, Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, President Hidefumi Kawai), a long-established school uniform manufacturer, was created under the direction of our pavilion’s SDGs advisor CLASS EARTH (Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, CEO Haruka Takagishi), who also produces school uniforms.
Available in three patterns, including LGBTQ-friendly designs that have become popular in school uniforms in recent years, the uniforms are made from polyester material that does not easily emit microplastics, and contribute to raising awareness of the impact that common polyester materials have on ocean pollution.
Since this is a uniform for an event held at sea, we hope to use this as an opportunity to improve the circulation of the ocean’s ecosystem.
