The story behind the creation of
the "Live Earth Journey" pavilion
This exhibition will be a special release of the original sketches
that are the basis of the worldview of the super-space theater "499 Seconds: My Fusion,"
which depicts a "food chain on a cosmic scale."
In addition, we will be exhibiting a Kaiyodo figure of the "Life Ball,"
the concept design of this pavilion.
Exhibition Contents
Original drawings created by Shoji Kawamori
This exhibition will display early sketches and rough ideas to visualize the theme. You can take a close look at the process of how Shoji Kawamori designed the super-space theater based on the concept of "Life is fusion and transformation!" and how he depicted the "miracle of living together here and now."
The exhibition will also display sketches that inspired his creativity, showing how energy and material circulation occurs while resonating with the diverse ecosystems on Earth, the microscopic world inside the body, and the exchanges on a cosmic scale.
The result is a work that goes beyond the relationships between living things that we see every day and allows us to feel the dynamism of life from a cosmic perspective.
The original drawings also give a glimpse into the design of the immersive experience with camera-equipped VR goggles, which was Shoji Kawamori's first attempt.
In collaboration with Isao Nishigori, a pioneer of immersive experiences, Kawamori worked on "overlapping the sense of unity of MR and the immersion of VR."
The sketches showing the perspective design and interaction ideas of the VR goggles are also must-sees, showing how these unique mechanisms were constructed.
"sourceofcreation"
This exhibition will also feature a special figure created by Kaiyodo with all its might, a symbol of the combination and transformation of biodiversity designed by Shoji Kawamori.
This "Life Ball" was created by Kaiyodo, known for its sophisticated modeling techniques, led by Shinobu Matsumura, a master of creature figures, and specialists from partner companies. With precision that surpasses conventional modeling techniques, the sculpture beautifully recreates the complex intertwining of diverse life forms, yet in sympathy and harmony.
