ANIMA!

"Anima" means "life" and "soul" in Latin, and is also the origin of the word "animation." We usually see ourselves separately from nature and other lives. However, in nature, we are all a part of the same interconnected whole. This work, coupled with the Super-Dimensional Theater, aims to let the audience feel the wildlife orchestra with all their senses without the need for goggles or other devices in a space that skillfully combines images, sounds, and vibration together. Immerse yourself in a primal experience that speaks to the soul, radiating the brilliance, vitality, and intensity of life, as suggested by the title.

ANIMA! is incredibly exciting. It taps into the childlike sense of adventure that we all have—the feeling of catching frogs or crayfish in an unfamiliar place, or the pure excitement of exploring a mountain or cave. That unfiltered curiosity is brought to life here.
The space uses interactive floor-type haptics to provide diverse types of vibrotactile feedback as a person walks or moves. This unexpected stimulation evokes a feeling that we don’t usually experience. For example, walking is second nature to us now, but for a baby, taking the first steps is a huge event like a festival. When playful music is paired with your steps, that forgotten excitement is rekindled. ANIMA! provides that kind of experience.
